Like the custom fields you add to a job template, asset custom fields enable you to add extra information about your assets that add to the standard information that all vWork assets have. You add this information through the vWork settings for Assets.
Once added an asset custom field shows for all your assets.
Asset custom fields are either 'Read-only' or 'Hidden'.
- 'Read-only' custom fields are visible to your mobile workers in the mobile app and provide them with extra information about the asset (e.g., an access code, phone number, site specific information etc).
- 'Hidden' custom fields can only be viewed in the job editor in the web app once the asset is added to a job. Mobile workers can't see hidden fields.
You can add up to ten custom fields to your assets. These can be any type of custom field you would normally find in a job (e.g., text, picklists, dates, images, etc).
