Most of our customers assign jobs to people, but some assign work to a specific vehicle that may be driven by many different team members. In this case, to use the vWork app you can mount a phone permanently in each vehicle and keep it logged in to vWork; or a better option, have the driver use their assigned phone to log in with the vehicle's details whenever they start using it. You can make the login process quick and easy for your team by creating a unique QR code for the vehicle.
When you create a QR code for a vehicle this enables workers, who drive multiple vehicles, to quickly log in and see all the jobs assigned to the vehicle they are currently driving. Drivers can easily change between vehicles and complete the jobs assigned to those vehicles. The QR code instantly logs the driver in with the vehicle's vWork User details. No emails or passwords are needed which makes things simpler for the driver and the dispatcher.

Set up a QR code
To set up a QR code:
- Ensure that each one of your vehicles has an email and password saved in the vehicle's user profile. You do this in Settings>Users>Users. Make a note of the email and password - you need this when you create the QR Code.
- There are several websites that enable you to create a QR code for free. You can use your preferred website or this one: https://www.qr-code-generator.com/.
- Type the information, as shown below, into the field; or copy and paste this text then over-type your email address and password. Once the QR code is generated you will download the image file to your computer.
💡 Tip: Remember to include everything - including the curly brackets at each end.
{"email":"insert your email address here","password":"insert your password here"} - There are two ways the QR code is generated in this website. The option you see depends on how wide your screen is.
- You may need to click the Create QR Code button,
- or your QR code is automatically generated as you type.
💡 Tip: Don't tap 'Enter' when you have finished entering the text as this isn't required and will prevent the QR code from generating.
- Keep the default layout settings or, optionally, select your prefered Frame, Shape and Color, and Logo preferences. You may need to sign up to the website to get these.
- Click to save the QR code to your computer as a .JPG file.
❗ Caution: If the vehicle's email address or password is changed at any time you must generate a new QR Code for the vehicle with the new email or password.
