In a vWork Job, any custom field which is a Free Text custom type field allows you to complete the field by scanning a barcode or QR code. You can also use a QR code to sign in to the vWork mobile app.

Scan a barcode or QR code in a Free text field
To scan a barcode or QR code:
- Go to the Fields screen in the mobile app.
- Tap the barcode symbol shown in any free text type custom field. This opens the scanner on your device. In this example, we have used a free text type custom field labeled Notes.
- Scan the barcode and:
- Android: Tap the ✔ in the red banner to confirm the scan.
- IOS: Tap Details in the banner to return to the field then tap Done to confirm the scan.

You can also log in using a barcode or QR code on both the Android and IOS apps.

As a general rule we can scan most, if not all, 1D and 2D barcodes and QR codes. We don't support 3D barcodes.
