What is the Reasons for Cancellation setting?
When a dispatcher cancels a job you can have them select a reason for canceling the job from a pre-defined list. The reason for cancellation is recorded with the job and shows on both the Schedule and the Jobs list in the vWork web app. The Reasons for Cancellation list is saved in the vWork Settings and is available for selection when any job is canceled.
How to set up Reasons for Cancellation
To set up your own reasons for cancellation that will appear account-wide when a user cancels a job, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > General
- Scroll down to the Reasons for Cancellation and click to open a field where you can type a reason for cancellation.
- Type the reason and click .
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add all the cancellation reasons you need. When you have finished, make sure you click to save the change to the settings.
Note: the list you create here provides the only options that a dispatcher can select from. Make sure the list covers all potential options (see below for some examples). You can add as many reasons as you want up to 256 characters.

If the dispatcher cancels a job they are also presented with the pre-defined list of cancellation options to select from.
You can see who canceled a job and the reason given by hovering your cursor over the Canceled status in the Jobs list.
