Add a list of 'Reasons for Decline'
You can add a list of reasons why a worker has declined a job. The worker must select one of these reasons in the vWork mobile app at the time they decline the job.
- Go to vWork > Settings > General
- Scroll to Accept and Decline and make sure the checkbox for Enabled? is checked.
- Click Add to enter a reason for a job to be declined. The Mobile User will be able to choose one of these reasons from the mobile app when they decline the job.
Notes: The reasons you add to this list are the only options a Mobile User can choose from. Make sure you cover all potential options in this list.
If your Mobile User has a device with a small screen long descriptions may run over the edge. Keep your descriptions brief.
Set an automatic decline period
Once you have enabled the 'Accept and Decline' feature you can customize it by setting an automatic decline period. When you do this jobs are automatically declined on behalf of the worker if they have not accepted the job within a pre-defined timeframe.
- Go to Settings > General.
- Ensure the checkbox for Enabled? is checked.
- Scroll to Accept and Decline and make sure the checkbox for Enabled? is checked.
- In the Auto Decline Period field enter the number of minutes the Mobile User has to accept the job before the job is automatically declined on their behalf. This must be more than 2 minutes.
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and click Save if you have no further changes to the settings.
Note: YOu cannot use this setting with the Auto Accept option.
Set jobs to be automatically accepted with a decline option
Once you have enabled the Accept and Decline feature you can also choose for jobs to be automatically accepted by the Worker, but provide them with an option to decline the job once they have opened it on their phone.
- Go to Settings > General.
- Scroll to Accept and Decline and make sure the checkbox for Enabled? is checked.
- Check the checkbox next to Auto Accept.
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and click Save if you have no further changes to the settings.
Note: You cannot use this setting with the Auto Decline option.
What does the Dispatcher see?
When a worker declines a job it will show on the vWork web app under the Schedule, and Jobs List.
It shows on the Schedule under the worker's name in Red - representing that the job is in the Declined state. The job also shows in the Workbench.
The Reason for Decline is included in the Job Information.
The Dispatcher can easily see that the job was declined, who declined it, and that it needs to be assigned to another worker or re-assigned to the same worker but at a different time.
On the jobs list the job has a status of Declined and, if the Dispatcher hovers their cursor over the status, the Reason for Decline shows.
Enable workers to reschedule Jobs
By default, workers cannot reschedule jobs that are assigned to them however, you can enable this if required. When this is enabled your workers can enter a new Scheduled Start Time in their mobile app.
- Go to Settings > General.
- Scroll to Workers can Reschedule jobs and make sure the checkbox for Enabled? is checked.
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and click Save if you have no further changes to the settings.
Once this setting is enabled your mobile workers can tap from the Job Title in the vWork mobile app and select to reschedule the start time for a job.
The dispatcher will see the job assigned to the worker with the new scheduled start time.
