You can set the iOS vWork mobile app so that photos taken while completing a job in vWork aren't saved in your device's storage. This can help if you have limited storage on your device.
When you disable vWork from saving photos to the device's storage, photos are still saved with the job when the job syncs to the vWork server. Photos are deleted from your device's storage when the job leaves the Jobs screen in the vWork app.
Stop photos from saving to your device's storage
To stop vWork from saving photos on your iOS device's storage:
- From the 'Jobs' screen tap in the red banner to open the vWork menu.
- Tap Settings to open the vWork app settings.
- Tap Save images to photo library to toggle the switch to white and disable saving photo's to your device.
- In addition to the above instructions, you may also need to check the 'Photos' settings in your iOS settings. iOS provides you with the option to enable transferring your photos to iCloud and keeping the original photos on your device. Make sure these settings don't conflict with the selection you have made in vWork. You can read more about this in this Apple help article, Manage your photo and video storage.
- Also search for the vWork app in your iOS settings to see what permissions you have enabled for photo access. You will need to allow some permission in order to use photos with vWork.
Save photos to your device's storage
You may choose to save photos to your devices storage if you regularly reuse the same images for different jobs and don't want to retake the same photo each time.
If you have stopped vWork from saving photos to your device and want to turn this function back on, simply repeat the steps to stop photos from saving, given in the topic above, but tap to turn the toggle on and change it back to green at step 3.
Make sure you review the iOS photo settings for your device and the permission you have allowed for vWork to have access to photos as described in Steps 3 and 4 in the topic above.
