It's important you set up your iOS vWork mobile app so that it works in a way that fits with the jobs you do and your work environment. You can adjust the default settings in the Settings menu.
Note: Some vWork settings for the mobile app are set in your business's vWork account by the vWork Administrator. These relate to the types of tasks you have permission to perform in the app. You can't change these settings in the mobile app.
Open the Settings screen
You open the Settings menu from the main menu - found in the red banner on the Jobs screen.
To open the settings:
- In the Jobs screen, tap to open the main menu.
- Tap Settings to open the Settings screen.

The settings are grouped in the app into four categories:

Prevent sleep
Prevent sleep keeps the vWork mobile app open and the screen on while you are using the app. This overrides the iOS settings that tell your iPhone or iPad to sleep when the device hasn't been used in a while.
The default for this setting is toggled to on (Green). By keeping the app open you are able to view your upcoming jobs and navigate through job screens without the screen timing out.
When this setting is enabled, your phone won't go to sleep while the vWork app is open. Please note, this will drain your battery faster than normal.
To toggle Prevent sleep on or off:
- Tap Prevent sleep.
Server
The Server settings connect your vWork mobile app with the vWork server. They specify the hosting, communication, and security protocols that enable the vWork server to safely share data with your vWork mobile app.
❗ Caution: Changing the default Server settings can cause problems with the data shared between your vWork mobile app and the vWork server. Please leave the default Server settings as they are - do not change them.
Save images to photo library
When Save images to photo library is toggled on (green), photos your capture in Image fields are automatically saved in the photo library on your phone.
This setting is toggled on by default. If you turn it off, vWork will upload images to vWork but won't save the photos in your photo library.
You may wish to turn this off if you are using a personal mobile device to run your vWork app, or if you have limited storage on your mobile device.
To toggle Save images to photo library on or off:
- Tap Save images to photo library.
Crash tracking
When you first install the vWork mobile app you are asked if you want to enable Crash Tracking as part of the initial setup. We recommend you allow Crash Tracking. This setting is enabled in the iOS settings for vWork. It is called Allow Tracking.
To turn Crash Tracking on or off for the vWork app:
- Tap Crash Tracking.
- Tap Open Settings.
- Tap to toggle Allow Tracking on or off in the vWork iOS settings on your device.
