What screens will I see in the vWork mobile app?
Both Android and iOS vWork mobile apps have the same screens; you will use these in the same ways on both apps to complete jobs in vWork. There are differences between how the Android and iOS vWork mobile apps look and feel due to the differences in their operating systems, but the order in which you open and interact with screens is very similar between both versions.
This diagram shows how the main screens relate to each other.
🔔 Note: The screens in this diagram come from the Android vWork mobile app.
Purpose of the main vWork mobile app screens
Login
The Login screen is where you enter your vWork email and password to log into the vWork app. You must use your login credentials to see jobs assigned to you. If you log in using another user’s details you won’t be able to see or access your jobs.
Jobs (the Home screen)
After you log in to the vWork app you land on the Jobs screen. This is the 'Home' screen for the app. You can access the vWork Menu, messages, and each Job from this screen. This is also where you return when you complete a job to find the details for your next job.
Details
The Details screen is where you access all the screens that relate to a single job. When you have opened a job’s Details screen you can see other screens that are specific to the job and navigate to these. This includes job steps, fields, invoice information, messages specific to the job, Health & Safety information, notes, and a job-specific map.
💡 Tip: The screens you can access from the 'Details' screen vary by the settings in your account and the requirements for the job. You may not have access to all these additional job screens if they are not required to complete a job.
You navigate back to the Jobs screen from the Details screen.
vWork menu
The vWork menu is where you can adjust the settings for the vWork mobile app and also perform tasks that aren’t related to a single job. You open this screen from the Jobs screen by tapping the lines on the left in the red banner at the top of the screen.
Messaging
There are two messaging screens in the vWork app. The Messaging screen that is opened from the red banner in the Jobs menu, or from the vWork menu, is where you can read all messages between you and other team members and with customers (if this is enabled for your account). These messages can be general and also about specific jobs. Messages specific to a job are identified by a Job ID.
The other Messaging screen is job specific and is opened from the Details screen when you are working on a job in the app. This Messaging screen only shows messages that relate to the selected job and your replies.
Map
There are two maps you can access in the vWork mobile app. The 'Map' screen you open from the vWork menu shows you the location of all jobs that are assigned to you for today.
You are also able to open a 'Map' screen once you have opened the Details for a job. This map shows you the location of the next geocoded step for the job that you have open and are working on in the app.
