You can create, edit, download and email an invoice for a job from the mobile app. You can also download, email and print a job status report.
Invoices are created and edited in the 'Invoice' screen on the vWork mobile app
An invoice has a description field and lists materials and labour required to complete a job. You can add and edit the description, and add and edit line items for an invoice (if your vWork Admin has enabled this permission in your 'Mobile permissions').
💡 Tip: You'll only see the 'Invoice' screen if invoicing has been enabled for the job that you are working on.
The Status Report shows all important information about a job, such as when job steps are completed and the step address information, and information captured in the fields for a job.

Add details to a job invoice
Invoices are created and edited in the Invoice screen for a selected job.
To update a job invoice in the Android vWork mobile app:
- From any screen when you are working on a job in the vWork mobile app, tap the Invoice menu item to open the 'Invoice' screen.
Edit or add the invoice description
There may already be an invoice description that you want to update, or you may need to add one. This is done in the invoice description field at the top of the screen.
To edit or add the invoice description:
- Tap to add a description to the invoice. This opens the Invoice description pop up where you can add a description or edit an existing description.
- Tap in the field then type the description.
When you are done tap OK.
🔔 Note: If you have 'Description Tokens' in the invoice description these continue to show as tokens until the value that they are a placeholder for is captured. For example, if you have the 'Job Completed Date' token this remains looking like this '{{Job Completed Date Not Available}}' until the job is completed and the job completed time is saved with the job.
Add or edit an Invoice line item
You can edit existing invoice items and add new line items to the invoice if you vWork Admin has given you the 'Mobile Permission' that enables you to edit an invoice.
- Tap to add a new item to the invoice.
Alternatively, to edit an existing line item, tap it. - Tap each field and enter the information for the line item.
When you are done tap OK. - The new line item is added to the invoice or the modified line item information shows for the existing line item. The 'Subtotal', 'Tax' and 'Total' are also automatically calculated and show at the bottom of the invoice.
Download and email a job invoice
Once the job is completed you can download the invoice as a PDF onto your Android device or email a PDF of the invoice to anyone.
Download a job invoice
To download a job invoice:
- Open the Details screen for the job, then tap Reports.
This opens the Report menu. - In the Reports menu, tap to select Download Invoice.... The to invoice is downloaded as a PDF onto your Android device in your downloads folder.
Email an Invoice
You can email an invoice from the Reports menu.
- Open the Reports menu - to do this follow step 1 for downloading a job Invoice described above.
- Tap to select Email Invoice... to open the Send to pop up.
- Tap the Send to field to open the keyboard and type the email recipients address.
When you are done tap Send.
Download, email, and print a Status Report
The Status Report shows the status of the job steps, the completed fields (often useful for proof of delivery), and the invoice information.
Download the Status Report
To download a Status Report:
- Follow the same steps to download an Invoice given above but select Download Status Report....
Email the Status Report
Just like for the Invoice, you can email the Status Report to any email recipient.
To email the Status report:
- Follow the same steps as for emailing the invoice but select Email Status Report....
Print a Status Report
You can print a Status report from the Reports menu.
💡 Tip: Make sure your Android device is connected to the printer you want to print from before attempting to print. You won't be able to print if your device is not connected to a printer.
- Open the Reports menu - to do this follow step 1 for downloading a job Invoice described above.
- Tap to select Print Status Report... to render the Status Report ready for printing.
- At this point you can choose a 'Full' format or a 'Narrow' format to print on different printing devices. The default is set to 'Full'; this is the option shown in here. To change the format to narrow, tap the menu to display both options, then tap 'Narrow'.
- Tap to open the Printer on your device. Then select the print options for your printer and print the Status Report.
