You can let your dispatcher know when you are going on a break or finishing your shift by changing your shift status directly from the vWork mobile app. This shows the dispatcher your shift status (On Shift or Off Shift), in the Schedule. It also shows in your vWork mobile app on the Jobs screen.

Note: To enable mobile app users to shift on and off in the vWork mobile app a vWork Administrator must enable this setting in the vWork General Settings. You can read more about turning this setting on in your vWork account in the article, Customize your vWork account's General Settings.

Set your shift status to 'Off Shift'

To set your status to 'Off Shift', from the Jobs screen:

1. Tap to show the 'Shift Off' options.
   
   
   
   
2. Select the time period that you want to be off shift. The default is 'until I shift on'. You can also select a pre-defined time period or set your own time peirod from a list of options. When you select from this list your shift status will change to 'On Shift' when the selected time period has passed.
   
   To select a time period, tap to show a drop-down list of time period options.
   
   
   
   
3. Tap the time period you want to set. Once selected, the chosen time period displays next to the 'Shift off' button.
   
   
   
   
4. Tap to go off shift.
   
   In this example, we have set a custom time period that will end at 11:00 am.
   
   
   
   
5. After tapping the 'Shift Off,  button your shift status changes in the gray banner.
   
   

Set your shift status to 'On Shift'

When you have set your status to 'Off Shift' your shift status will automatically change back to 'On Shift' when the period of time set to be off shift reaches the end.

You can override the set period that you are off shift and manually return your status to 'On Shift'. You will also need to do this if you selected the option 'until I shift on'.

To manually change your shift status to 'On Shift':

1. Tap next to your shift status to show the button.
