The Alerts feature is a standard feature in vWork. Alerts enable you to generate and send in-app notifications, emails, and SMS messages to almost anyone when a trigger is activated by a job activity or event in your vWork account.
An Ad Hoc Alert Recipient is an optional add-on to the vWork Alerts features. It enables you to add an email or SMS alert recipient to a specific job. This is great if you need a third party to get an alert who isn’t a regular contact or customer. For example, when you have a concrete delivery to a building site and need to alert the site manager to the delivery.
If you want to add the Ad Hoc Alert Recipient feature to your account or find out more about this, please email support@vworkapp.com.

What is an Ad Hoc Alert Recipient?
An Ad Hoc Alert Recipient enables you to add a single alert recipient to a job. This may be because you do not have an ad hoc alert recipient's contact information until you create the job. This may also be done if the recipient is specific to this job (like a site manager or security guard) and should not be saved with the standard customer record.
This is what you see in the Job Information tab in a job when you have enabled both an ad hoc email recipient and an ad hoc SMS recipient for an alert.
đź”” Note: Ad Hoc Alert Recipients are different from a 'Custom Email Address' or 'Custom Mobile Number'. Ad Hoc Alert Recipients are saved with a job and are specific to the job and not to the alert. With custom email and SMS alert recipients, the details for the recipients are known and saved in the alert settings and they are automatically associated with all jobs when the alert is triggered. Ad hoc alert recipients are added to each individual job only as they are needed.
