The vWork mobile app enables you to see your jobs on a map. You can use the 'Jobs Map' to easily see where all your jobs are and what status they have: 'Pending', 'Assigned' and 'Started'. You can also view the 'Map' for a single job to show the locations of all the steps for that job and help you navigate to each step.

Introducing the two map views
There are two map views in the vWork mobile app. These are the:
- Jobs Map
This is found in the vWork menu. It shows all your scheduled jobs with at least one geolocated job step, and your location. There is more about this map view in the next topic, Jobs Map. - Map
Every job with a geolocated job step has a 'Map' screen. You can select this to see the current job you are working on and all geolocated steps associated with that job in the order you will complete them. This map view also provides you with quick access to your devices map app for navigating to the step. There is more about this map view later in this article in the topics, Map view for a single job and Navigate to a job using the Map.
💡 Tip: A geolocated step is a step that has an address or coordinates saved with it. It displays this icon after the address or coordinates. When you see this icon it means vWork can use the latitude and longtitude coordinates to show the location on a map.
Jobs Map
The 'Jobs Map' shows all your scheduled jobs with at least one geolocated step address. You can easily see the current status of each job by the color of the job's triangle. Your location also shows so you can see where you are relative to each job.
Open the 'Jobs Map'
The 'Jobs Map' is a menu item in the vWork Menu.
To open the 'Jobs Map':
- From the 'Jobs' screen click in the red banner to open the vWork Menu.
- Tap to select 'Jobs Map' from the listed menu options.
- The 'Jobs Map' opens and displays triangles for each of your scheduled jobs. These are placed on the first geolocated step for each job. You can also see your location as a blue circle
💡 Tip: The first geolocated step may not be the first job step; it is the first step that has a geolocated address saved with the step.
Find out more about each job
- Each job triangle shows its status by the color of the triangle:
- Yellow shows a job is pending - it is yet to be accepted by a worker if the 'Accept and Decline Jobs' setting is enabled in vWork General Settings by a vWork Admin.
- Blue shows a job is assigned and is yet to be started
- Green shows a job is started.
- Tap a job's triangle to see more information about the job.
Tap the triangle a second time to open the 'Details' screen for that job. - To exit the 'Jobs Map' there are two options:
- To return to the 'Jobs' screen and view your 'Job's list', tap in the red banner to open the vWork menu, then select 'Jobs List' from the menu options.
- To go directly to a specific job's 'Details' screen or start working on it, from the 'Jobs Map', double tap the job triangle.
- To return to the 'Jobs' screen and view your 'Job's list', tap in the red banner to open the vWork menu, then select 'Jobs List' from the menu options.
Map for a single job
When you have opened a job and are viewing its 'Details' screen you can select the 'Map' screen to view the first and following geolocated job steps for the job you are working on.
The individual job 'Map' is useful for:
- Seeing geolocated steps on the map in the order they are to be completed
- Identifying a job's status and the status of the geolocated steps for a job
- Navigating to any of the geolocated steps using your choice of the map navigation apps installed on your mobile device; e.g. Google Maps, Waze.
- Seeing where you are relative to the geolocated steps.
Open the 'Map'
To open the 'Map' for a single job:
- In the 'Jobs' screen tap a job to open the job 'Details'.
- From the 'Details' screen tap the 'Map' tab in the red banner to open the map for this job.
💡 Tip: If you can't see the 'Map' tab and you know the job has a geolocated step, drag your finger along the red banner from right to left to scroll the banner and see more tabs.
Identify the job's status
The job shows as a triangle when a job step has a geolocated address. If the job doesn't have a geolocated step it won't show on the map.
Job triangles
Job triangles show the job's status by their color:
- Yellow shows a job is pending
- Blue shows a job is assigned
- Green shows a job has started
- Black shows the job is completed
Job steps
Steps with saved geolocated addresses and locations are represented by circles. When the job has more than one geolocated step, each step is linked in the order they must be completed by a line.
You can see if a step is completed by the color of the step's circle.
- Blue circles show a step is not yet completed.
- Black circles show a step is completed.
In this example, we have a job with three geolocated steps.
- The first step is geolocated and shows a green triangle to let us know the job has started- i.e, one or more job steps have been completed.
- The next geolocated step is a black circle. This shows the step is completed.
- The final geolocated step is a blue circle. This shows the step is not yet completed.
'Map' tools: find the job location, your location and view traffic
When you open the 'Map', it zooms to show you the location of the job in the centre of the screen.
The 'Map' has tools in the top right corner that help you to quickly view the job, your location and traffic conditions.
- To see your location tap this tool:
- To see traffic conditions tap this tool:
- To see where the job is tap this tool:
