Sync the vWork app with the vWork server
❗ Important: Before you log out of vWork make sure you have synced your job information with the vWork server. Job information that isn't synced when you log out is lost and will need to be recaptured.
The steps below briefly explain how to sync your vWork app with the server. If you want more detailed instructions please read the article, iOS: sync your job information from your vWork mobile app with the vWork server.
💡 Tip: You must have a data connection enabled and turned on to sync job data. This can be Wi-Fi or mobile data.
To sync your job information:
- In the Jobs screen tap in the red banner to open the menu.
- Tap Sync Activity to see if you have any pending job updates.
💡 Tip: A green dot next to the 'Sync Activity' menu item indicates your job data is synced with the vWork server. - If you don't have data to sync then tap in the red banner and proceed with restarting your device.
- If you have pending job updates then tap and open the menu again. Tap Refresh to sync your jobs with the vWork server.
- If the data won't sync then restart your device without logging out. How to restart is explained in the next topic.
Restart your device without logging out
- Restart your mobile device without logging out of vWork.
- Switch your mobile device off and back on again.
- If you can't turn your phone off, the instructions for forcing a restart on your iPhone are here.
This is the best first step if data isn't syncing with our server. When you stay signed in to vWork, the job data captured that hasn't synced remains on your mobile device even when you restart the device.
If restarting without signing out of the mobile app doesn't work then proceed to the next step.
Log out of vWork then restart your device
❗ Important: You should not try this until you have attempted the other methods given above. You will lose job information that hasn't synced with the vWork server when you log out. You or your dispatcher will need to re-enter lost job information after completing this method.
- Sync your device (see above) and sign out of the vWork app.
To log out of the vWork app:
- In the Jobs screen tap in the red banner to open the menu.
- From the menu tap Log out to open the Log out pop-up window.
- Tap Log out. You are logged out of vWork and presented with the Login screen.
- In the Jobs screen tap in the red banner to open the menu.
- Restart your mobile device.
- Switch your mobile device off and back on again. If you can't turn your phone off, the instructions for forcing a restart on your iPhone are here.

If the app continues to crash proceed to the next option: reinstall the vWork app.
Reinstall the vWork app
If logging out and restarting your device didn't fix the problem, the next step is to perform a clean re-installation of vWork from the iOS App Store.
To reinstall the iOS mobile app:
- Sync your jobs with the vWork server and log out of vWork following the instructions given above.
- Uninstall vWork from your mobile device. The iOS instructions for uninstalling an app are here.
