Draft status is a job status that gives you the freedom to plan your schedule without cluttering up your mobile workers’ phones with unnecessary notifications about job changes.
When a job is in Draft status it can be moved around the schedule but can’t be published - even when the rest of the schedule is published. The Draft status is useful when you are planning jobs days or weeks in advance and those plans are likely to change. By using the Draft status you can shuffle jobs around the Schedule and when you are satisfied with part or all of the Schedule you can selectively remove the Draft status from jobs in bulk and publish them.
The Draft status shows in light pink.

Plan your schedule using Draft status
All jobs, including those with a status of Draft, show in the left-hand panel of the Schedule.
Assign a draft job to a worker on the Schedule
If you create a Draft job with no assigned start time or worker the job only shows in the left-hand panel of the Schedule. If you created the job with a start time but no worker it also shows on the Workbench.
In this example:
- The job for Eileen Dover has a scheduled start time which has expired. Her job shows in both the left-hand panel and on the Workbench.
Note: You can see the Workbench displays this pink caution icon . This warns us that the start time for 1 job has passed. You can identify the affected job (or jobs if the number is greater than 1) by hovering your cursor over the icon. - The job for James Johnson doesn’t have a start time. It doesn’t show on the Schedule Bar Chart or the Workbench.
To assign the job to a worker and also schedule a start time for it:
- Click on the job in the left-hand panel, or from the Workbench, and drag it to your preferred worker and start time.
In this example, we have assigned both Eileen Dover’s and James Johnson’s jobs to our workers. The jobs remain in Draft even though they have a worker assigned to them.
Unassign a draft job from a worker
If you want to unassign a job in Draft status and remove it from a worker’s schedule:
- Click and drag the job from the worker’s schedule bar chart to the Workbench (or another worker).
In this example, we have decided to remove Eileen's job from Serge Majors’s schedule. We aren’t quite sure where we will schedule it so we have put it on the Workbench for now while we consider our options.
Assign a start time to a job without assigning a worker
If you create a job in Draft Status without an assigned worker or start time it shows in the left-hand panel of the Schedule.
- You can drag the job from the left-hand panel to your preferred start time on the Workbench to see how the job fits in with all workers' schedules for your chosen time slot without assigning it to a worker.
- When you are satisfied you have found the best time slot and worker, drag the job from the workbench to the worker's schedule.
Remove the Draft status to publish the Schedule
Once you have arranged the schedule as you like it you need to remove the draft status from Draft jobs to publish these to your workers. It's easy to remove the Draft status from multiple jobs at the same time from the Jobs tab.
